I'm officially in the third trimester! YIKES! =)
Life has been busy lately! We had a wonderful long weekend for Memorial Day. The next day they started work on the basement. I was really dreading the whole process, but really it went pretty smoothly! They showed up early every day, and finished in time (we had a pretty set deadline, as we were heading out for vacation on Thursday afternoon). They went above and beyond for us, even moving our little tree for us!
That Thursday we left for our annual trip to Sault Ste. Marie/Mackinaw City. Joe bowls in a tournament in the Soo every year, I think this was our 8th year going? It always makes for a really great vacation. This year we stayed in Mackinaw City on Thursday with plans to stay in Sault Ste. Marie on Fri & Sat nights (they're about an hour away from each other). The hotel we found in Mackinaw was AWESOME. It had a really great water park (for Joe and Maddy, LOL, not much fun for the pregnant lady).
We spent hours there Thursday evening, and had a blast. On Friday morning we found out that our reservations had gotten screwed up in Sault Ste. Marie, so we decided to just stay where we were! We upgraded our room to a "suite," which was still $30/night cheaper than we'd planned to pay @ the Soo, and we got more time at the water park!

Aside from playing at the water park, we shopped some in downtown Mackinaw, had some good food, and hung out at the Soo Locks for a bit. We bought some fudge and ate some ice cream. All in all, a successful trip! We're hoping to get back to the water park again sometime this fall/winter. Maddy is in LOVE!
The baby is doing great! I had my 28 week check-up last week, which was pretty uneventful. I passed my gestational diabetes test, and I got my Rhogam shot, too. Peanut is HEAD DOWN!! I'm so happy! I also signed my VBAC consent form, which is exciting. My Dr. cheered for me when she heard I'd signed it. Its really nice to have a supportive doctor. I really hope she's the one on call when I go into labor, but I probably won't get that lucky! I was told that they're going to do an ultrasound @ 36 weeks to check fluid levels (and confirm her position). Apparently there's some concern that the bleeding I had early on (7w & 11w) might indicate a problem w/ the placenta, so they just want to make sure everything is still looking good. If all is well, we'll proceed as normal. If not, they'll likely do an emergency c-section to get her out safely. I'm not worried about it. I'm sure things are fine. If not, we'll be having a baby in about 6.5 weeks- YIKES!! =) I'm also now pre-registered at the hospital. Its all becoming very real!
My parents kept Maddy on Saturday night this weekend. Joe and I got some serious work done in the computer room (we're packing everything up so we can make it Maddy's room!). We still have a long ways to go, but it's progress! Hopefully we can keep up the momentum. We're going to run out of time!
